What is a Moissantie?

Moissanite, one of the rarest naturally occurring minerals, was found over a century ago in Arizona post the impact of a meteorite. Its resemblance to diamonds led scientists to develop a thermal growing process in labs to create silicon carbide crystals. This meticulous process, spanning two to three months, results in a single gem that is precisely cut to enhance its brilliance. Today, moissanite serves as a lab-grown alternative to diamonds. providing a more eco-friendly option. Moissanites also avoids mining. This ensures a smaller carbon footprint and less environmental harm than mined gems.

Diamond vs Lab grown diamonds.

Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically identical to natural mined diamonds. The only difference is that they are grown from a mined diamond "seed" by scientists using state-of-the-art technology, as opposed to having been extracted from the earth. They have the same physical and chemical properties as mined diamonds, so they look exactly the same. They can only be told apart from their mined counterparts by using special laboratory equipment.
